wcg_screenshotTekken 6 made the cut onto the World Cyber Games roster for its 2010 tournament series.

The WCG made the announcement Sunday evening. Tekken 6 is the only fighting game on the roster so far. It will be played on the Xbox 360. It will be a 1-on-1 tournament, according to the tournament Web site.

A year ago, the WCG only had one fighting game, Virtua Fighter 5. Months ago, the organization asked fans and followers to submit their suggestions for what games should be on this year's list of competitive games.

There's no word from the league whether they're pursuing Street Fighter IV or any other fighting game.

The full list of games announced so far:

  • Warcraft 3
  • Counter-Strike
  • Trackmania Nations Forever
  • Carom 3D
  • Guitar Hero 5
  • Tekken 6
  • Forza Motorsport 3

Here's part of the announcement from the WCG:

New York, NY – Mar.8, 2010 – World Cyber Games Inc. (WCG), organizer of the premier international video game competition and festival, today announced the first official game titles for the WCG 2010 Grand Final in Los Angeles this fall.  The list features PC and Xbox 360 titles that comprise some of the most popular competitive games available around the world today.

WCG announced total of 7 official game titles and 1 promotional game title this time. In this year's line-up, not only traditionally popular titles such as Warcraft3, Counter-Strike, and Guitar Hero, world famous racing game Forza Motorsport 3 and fighting game Tekken 6 is included.

The WCG Grand Final is scheduled to take place Sept. 28 through Oct. 3 at the Los Angeles Convention Center.

The announcement comes days after MLG announced it will have Tekken 6 in its lineup and was actively pursuing to get Street Fighter IV on its own list of 2010 games.
