Genesis 2, the sequel to the popular 2009 Super Smash Bros series tournament, has been announced for July 15-17, 2011 at the Contra Costa Fairgrounds in Antioch.
Very few tournaments are announced a year ahead. Much like the first Genesis, the tournament organizers have put out the notice well ahead of time.There will be competitions for all three games in the Super Smash Bros. series.

This wont be your average tournament. I almost don't even want to call it a tournament, and rather call it an experience that you will never forget.
I cannot sum up what Genesis 1 was in words. You simply had to be there. Missing Genesis 2 would be a shame, because we WILL out do ourselves, and we WILL put on a show for everyone the likes of which have yet to be seen in this community.
We are going above and beyond to make this the best thing you will ever experience in your smash career. You will be begging for more at the end of it, and wont want it to end.
Perhaps the most notable part of the announcement is the tournament organizers have said they will not broadcast the competition -- there is no internet at the venue -- and they will not make a push to get Internet so they can stream it.
