Ryan "Gootecks" Gutierrez and Mike Ross have joined CompLexity Gaming, it was announced Sunday night.

The two guys are on a day-long flight to Australia, where they will be competing in Shadowloo Showdown 2011. It will be their first tournament representing the famed organization.

Gootecks will be the media manager, while Mike Ross will be the player manager. This will be the first team both have joined as Super Street Fighter IV competitors. CompLexity is known for it's excellence in Counter-Strike and other PC games.

CompLexity said players will be announced in the coming weeks.

For Genesis 1, more than 50 players from Southern California pitched in and took a charter bus to Northern California to participate in the memorable event. That charter was organized by Marco "Oats" Salazar.

Congratulations to Team Spooky and iPLAYWINNER as they will team up to broadcast Evolution 2011 World Finals next month at the Rio Casino and Resort in Las Vegas, Nev.

Team Spooky, led by Victor "Spooky" Fontanez, has broadcasted the majority of the circuit events this year. They did not broadcast Evolution 2010 but did run the Salty Suite, which included the famed Salty Runback match between Arturo Sanchez and Daigo Umehara.

IPLAYWINNER is led by Neidel Crisan, and they will be broadcasting next week's NorCal Regionals 9.

Latif, the online warrior known for playing Super Street Fighter IV and Guilty Gear, has joined Team Brokentier.

The announcement was made Saturday night during the ReveLAtions tournament in Los Angeles. Latif is currently in attendance competing.

Latif is a multiple-time winner in the Peaceful Jay tournament series - he won the second Salty Conflict Online Tournament - and was once a member of Team Peaceful Jay (PJS). However, he announced this morning he was leaving, and the Peaceful Jay staff said he was moving on to "bigger and better things."

His signing is the third player movement in the last 24 hours; Japanese player Mago has joined Team MadCatz, and Carl "Perfect Legend" White is with Dominion Method Gaming. no comments

Carl "Perfect Legend" White has joined Dominion Method Gaming. The announcement was made Friday afternoon, just moments after the team said it was sponsored by MadCatz.

White, well known for competing in Dead or Alive tournaments and more recently Mortal Kombat 9, will join a staff of 11 players in Super Street Fighter IV and two in Tekken 6.  It's the team's first signing since Brandon "Dr. Chaos" Ellerbee was released by the team last month.

Tekken 6 will be the third tournament in the Evolution 2011 series to have seeding points, according to several Tekken players and CEO 2011 tournament organizer Alex Jebailey.

Players that make the top eight at any Tekken 6 tournament starting with this weekend's CEO 2011 will earn seeding points, preventing them from facing off against other high-profile competitors early in the World Finals this July.

Already, Super Street Fighter IV and Marvel vs. Capcom 3 have seeding points.  no comments

 

There will be a side Super Turbo tournament at NorCal Regionals 9. It's set to take place June 18, which is the first day of the whole event. Entry fee is $20. Also, unless you are registered for NorCal Regionals, you must buy a raffle ticket to compete in the ST tournament; those range from $3 to $5.

There's already 20 players that have signed up; go to the tournament page to get info on how to enter.

EA Sports made the announcement this morning regarding a couple of Madden 12 covers. Yes. a couple of them. First off, this is the official Madden 12 cover that you will see when the game is released Aug. 30. 

  

In addition, this is the cover of the Hall of Fame Edition. It's former St. Louis running back Marshall Faulk, who was on the 2003 cover. He's the only Madden cover athlete to be in the Pro Football Hall of Fame. There's only going to be 125,000 copies of this version available, at $89.99, according to EA Sports.

EA Sports earlier today explained the dynamic player ratings that will be in Madden 12, warning fans that players will act differently based on how the game plays out.

The idea seems to be to snowball the actions of a player; if he's having a good game, he'll get better. If he's having a bad game, it could get much worse unless things change.

Each and every player in Madden NFL 12 will have a genuine and noticeable gameplay style, resulting in more divergent AI and skill sets. Mike Vick will no longer just stand in the pocket waiting for a receiver to get open as you continuously rush three and drop eight. Ed Reed and Ray Lewis will no longer react to a pass in the same way. Ed Reed will seek every opportunity to cut in front of the receiver and pull down that big interception, while Ray Lewis will look to punish those receivers who dare run routes over the middle.

 

Overall, across all positions, there are a total of 18 new traits that will define each player's style of play.

They also have put out a video showing how the player rating could affect one player: Eli Manning.

Major League Gaming's Columbus, Ohio regional will include a Mortal Kombat 9 tournament. The league made the announcement earlier today, adding that a $1,000 prize pool will be a part of the event.

Preliminaries will include a gauntlet competition, where the top eight winning streaks will move on to face off in a single-elimination bracket.
