Get Your Tournament - News And Info
UPDATE: Tekken player Rip pointed out that North American players are ineligible to compete in this tournament.
SK Gaming is teaming with Namco Bandai to run a Tekken 6 online tournament on March 28. It's going to be on the Xbox 360, played over Xbox Live.
The tournament is limited to 32 participants; it will be double elimination. The only noticeable difference of this tournament is that winners can change characters during a match.
More info is on the SK Gaming site:
The tournament will take place over Xbox Live and follows the standard double elimination format, with 32 places open for those who sign up the quickest.
As well as taking the crown of Tekken 6 Iron Fist Community Tournament Champion, prizes will be awarded for the top three finishers. First place will take the Tekken 6 Arcade Stick XBOX360 Edition and a black SK Gaming t-shirt, second place will receive the same bundle minus a t-shirt and finally, the third place finisher will win a PS3 Wireless Arcadestick!
Raleigh, N.C., and Dallas will be sites of the third and fourth MLG live tournaments, respectively, in the 2010 tournament series.
The league made the announcement Monday morning. Those two cities join Orlando, Fla., and Columbus, Ohio, as circuit stops. It will be the first time an MLG event has been held in Raleigh.
In addition, Raleigh (Aug. 27-29) will be the first site of the 2010 Madden Challenge tournament series. Last year, Dallas was the first; that city is second this year (Nov. 5-7).
So the only hopes of California being an MLG destination for a third consecutive year is now the Finals Tournament.
In the meantime, competitor passes are still available for all three games.

The 10 players were reportedly hand-picked by ShadyK.

no commentsJohn Choi announced earlier today the Super Battle Opera committee has allocated spots to the United States for five games.
- Street Fighter IV
- Tekken 6
- Third Strike
- BlazBlue
- Super Turbo
Each game will get just one U.S. entrant, according to John. Last year, the team of Alex Valle and Combofiend represented the U.S. in Street Fighter IV.
It is very likely some of the qualifiers will once again be held in California. Arcade UFO in Austin, Texas, will be the site of the BlazBlue qualifying tournament.
UPDATE: Game Galaxy Arcade in Nashville, Tenn., will be the site of the Super Turbo qualifying tournament.
no commentsI'm sure there will be plenty of these, and here's the first. The Box Arena will be conducting a ranbats season for Super Street Fighter IV starting in May in San Diego.
There will be six tournaments in the season. The first tournament is scheduled for May 15, and the finale is August 28. The start date means that players will have about a month after the game's release to prepare for the season.
More details will be posted on the Box Arena's Web site.
no commentsI wrote about it yesterday, but it bears repeating. MLG Orlando passes for Tekken 6 and Brawl will go on sale today at 4 p.m. PT.
In past events, passes for single-person tournaments were sold out really fast. You'll want to have everything ready to go once registration opens.
Halo 3 team passes are already on sale.
no commentsConvinced, the winner of the Big City Bowl this past weekend, said there's no controversy over the finish. He was asked about this on the Ask Madden site.
Convinced admitted that the final three players in the tournament split the prizes and the tournament reportedly ended right after that.
There was a bit of controversy at the end of the tournament. Anything you want to clarify about that?
Nothing to clarify really. There was a split that involved 3 people, its just more so people hating on me because a lot of people don’t want to see a guy like me win.
On the Madden Voice radio show Tuesday night, Convinced said the same.
The guys at Ask Madden asked Convinced more about the tournament, including his style of play and his toughest matches from the tournament.
You can read more on Ask Madden.
