Earlier today, Pasta Padre mentioned on Twitter the demo for Madden 11 will be 5-minute quarters. This is a major change from past years, where the demo for the year's game was a half, or a quarter. It really looks like EA Sports is trying to drive home its point of being "Simpler, quicker, deeper" by giving all of us a good amount of time to mess around with the demo.
The gameplay footage from the Electronic Entertainment Expo that's starting to surface shows that anything less than five-minute quarters would probably be a disappointment.
Here's some footage of Madden 11 by Pasta Padre. As expected, Gameflow is in full effect, with limited downtime between plays. John Carlson got wide open on that slant rout at 0:48 but I'm not sure if it's because it's against the Rams' secondary in a Cover-2 defense or the AI being so soft.
The same thing happened to Koachk in his video when he was using the Titans. The Lions were playing a very soft Cover-4, and the only misses on the video were really of his own doing.
It appears that Pasta was using the default set play, and he found a lot of success with it. Koachk was audiblizing and had a little bit tougher time, but still ended up on the positive side.
Hopefully the AI isn't this dumb when the final version is released.
Videos from Pasta Padre and Koachk.
