canada_cupThe final eight players in the Canada Cup 2010 were determined earlier tonight. The tournament resumes Sunday afternoon with the final eight players battling it out for Canadian supremacy. The specific matches weren't announced, but the players were:

Winners bracket
Daigo Umehara
JS Master
Mago
Mike Ross

Losers bracket
Air
Gootecks
Jozhear
Justin Wong

There were a few feature matches that took place late in the broadcast, and I posted the stats of them on the stats section.

JS Master vs Justin Wong: This was amazing. JS Master never let Justin breathe, winning in a sweep. Justin was first to 50 percent health and 25 percent health all four times during the match.

Air vs Mike Ross: Air beat up Mike Ross in the opening round of the matchup and I figured this was going to be a rough outing for Mike (and if you read my commentary earlier in the week, you know why). But Mike came back strong, winning three rounds in a row and establishing initial contact in all three of those rounds.

Gootecks vs Mago: It looked like Gootecks had Mago wrapped up in the second game but missed an opportunity to do it. Instead, Mago survived it and extended the match, which he eventually won. In the third game, Gootecks did not get an EX connection, while Mago got five.
