I wanted to interview someone in the Madden Challenge standings but who has to go to Orlando with a win-or-out scenario. Big Bread Ced is definitely one of those players. He's 27 in the points, but the only way he can get to the Finals Tournament is if he reaches the championship match in the Orlando regional.
Cedric said he's going to be using the Titans (which I think will be a heavily used team) hoping that it'll get him to the championship match. More than 200 players will be standing in his way as he tries to get to the Promised Land.
There's other topics we cover in this interview, including his practice time and the HB direct snap.
More after the jump ...
GLENN: There's been a big break between Anaheim and Orlando. Have you put more time into your game than before, or less or the same?
CEDRIC: I've actually put way less time in the game. When I take time away from the game and come back to play i play way better for some odd reason.
GLENN: Are you going to stick with the same team you used in Anaheim? Why or why not?
CEDRIC: Naw. I'm kinda weird at tournaments. I played with two teams and switched every other game. Eagles for more of a deep attack but their downfall is the defense dropping so many picks. Vikings for a great fast offense, Incredible running back, and the best D line in the game. Their downfall is AP fumbles a lot and besides the D line, the rest of the D is super slow. In Orlando I'm playing with the Titans.
GLENN: What do you think you have to do more or better to win in Orlando? Is it playing better O or D or avoiding certain players?
CEDRIC: I think I have to stay focused and get sleep. I feel I played great in Cali but by the time I got to my fourth and fifth game I felt terrible. I'm not really afraid to play anybody. I play my best against the best.
GLENN: Aside from yourself, who are some of the players to be on the lookout for in orlando and why?
CEDRIC: There are a lot of good players but I think players like Show, Fool, Brusk and Secret will be the ones to watch for. Show has always been one of the best but hasn't really showed up and played to his ability. Fool just looks great on the game right now plus we are in the same crew. Brusk seems to always find his way in the top eight. Secret is one of the best players to do it. You always have to respect his game.
GLENN: Do you think this year's game has made playing in these tournaments tougher? What i mean is that in this game it's much more difficult to perform moves compared to in madden 09 or madden 08.
CEDRIC: This game takes more still in play calling ability then in the years past. In 08 and 09 it was a matter of if the computer was gonna catch or drop the ball. Took no skill at all.
GLENN: Should the HB direct snap be banned? I think everyone's gotten rid of it from their gameplan, but some people still try to use it and are successful with it.
CEDRIC: I think if you're going to ban something ban it completely. Even though it's not as good it still should not be allowed.
GLENN: If you make the final match, who would you want to face and why?
CEDRIC: If I made it 2 the ship I would want to face Prettyboy. We are both from Texas but he has been around longer. He is considered the best to ever do it from Texas so if I want to be the best out of Texas I have to beat him on the big stage. I probably won't get that chance cause he isn't the same Madden player he use to be level wise but I would love for it to happen.
