Written by Glenn | 23 February 2010

I was hoping to have these interviews up earlier, but videos of the Sunroute Cup have consumed me since. In this episode of The Players Choice, I talk to Marn and ShadyK about their performances in Sunday's tournament. Marn finished second and ShadyK was third.

Marn talks about finishing second in the tournament, playing against Justin in the title match and connecting an improbable ultra against ShadyK. Meanwhile, ShadyK talks about going back and forth from Ryu to Akuma during the tournament.

This should be a great Players Choice podcast, and I hope you enjoy it. Yesterday I received the opportunity to interview Keno about his experience playing Super Street Fighter IV. Keno had the chance to play the game last week at USC, and tried out a lot of the new characters, as well as some of the old characters.

In this podcast – it's almost 10 minutes – he'll tell you what character is still strong, what character will be dropped by a lot of people, and which new characters are standouts. Also, will the tournament scene degenerate to just a few characters, or will it be varied? Finally, Keno tells you the one thing tournament players must do to have a shot of winning a competition.

UPDATE: During the podcast, Keno talked about the four characters yet to be revealed. Three have been confirmed: Ibuki, Makoto and Dudley.

I've been wanting to get these guys on for a podcast for a while, and I finally got the chance last night. In this podcast of bloggers, I talk to Rey Rey of The No Look Pass about all things NBA Jam.

If you follow other sports video games, you've probably heard that NBA Jam is coming back thanks to EA Sports. You can submit your thoughts on the EA site regarding who should be on each team.

In this podcast, I go back and forth with Rey Rey about the new version, past versions, and the Los Angeles teams involved, past and present. You'll find out what Clippers and Lakers we believe should be in the new version. Also, have you ever heard of an eight overtime game?

You can listen to the podcast below.

This was a fun podcast to do because I like watching Bronson aka Insanelee do his thing in Tekken. One of the characters he uses in Tekken 6 is Julia. At NorCal StrongStyle 4 a couple weekends ago, he rolled all the way to fifth place, and his strength of schedule was one of the top three in the tournament.

Here in this podcast, he talks about Julia, why he uses her and the things to be aware of when playing against other competitors in tournament play. You can listen to the podcast below.

SUNNYVALE - Suiken is one of Southern California's best Tekken 6 players and has proven himself in several venues. This past weekend, he finished in the top five at NorCal StrongStyle 4. He was the best California finisher in the tournament and won a tournament-high eight matches.

In this podcast, Suiken talks about Lei and why he's successful using him in tournament play. You'll also find out which Lei stances are best to use.

SUNNYVALE - Crow was part of the late out-of-state domination at NorCal StrongStyle 4, as he finished third in the Tekken 6 singles tournament last night.

Crow was held down by both Korean players, Rain and Tongbal Love. Only three players faced both Koreans in the tournament, and they all lost. Crow was the last of the three to unfortunately do so.

In this interview, he talked about the two tough matches, plus his run in the tournament. You can listen to it below.

Here is one of a couple weekly podcast series I'm starting on Get Your Tournament. This one is called The Players Choice. I'll be interviewing a player about what player or team they use in the game they compete. Hopefully you and I will get to understand more about why they use the character or team they do use in competitive play.

This week I interviewed Tatsu, one of the very few Vega players in Southern California. If you follow tier lists and character rankings (Event Hubs has the definitive character ranking list) Vega is in the bottom 10 percent. So why does Tatsu continue to use him? I ask him that as well as what he does during a match and how he overcomes projectile characters.

To listen to the interview, check it out below.

SIMI VALLEY - I had a chance to talk to BlueTallCans after his second-place finish at Saturday's Denjin HD Remix 2.6 ranbats tournament. He was the Blanka user in the battle that went to a second championship match.

In this interview, he talks about playing against DGV and the guessing game he encountered while in battle.

If you want a recap of the tournament and videos from the last match, go here.

Orlando Madden Challenge

Here's some interviews I had with players following the Orlando Madden Challenge this past weekend. There are three. Enjoy!

Prodigy (pictured, right) won the Orlando Madden Challenge, beating Evil Ken in the overtime finals. He struggled during the championship contest but came up with a huge interception in the overtime tiebreaker to win, 10-7 and yet another regional title. He returns to the Finals Tournament and will try to improve on his final four finish from last year. You can get a recap of the finals match from Orlando here.

Evil Ken (pictured, left) finished second in Orlando and made a surprise run considering that he didn't earn rankings points in Dallas or Anaheim. After defeating a solid field of former regional and Finals champions, he suffocated Prodigy's offense in the championship match. But in the overtime tiebreaker, one mistake turned out to be the downfall. Here he talks about his runner-up finish and why he used the Saints.

Fool is one of the two Wild Card entrants in the Finals Tournament. Going into Orlando, he had to pull off a spectacular run, then hope that either Brusk or LilManz fell off early. Both leaders did fall off before Survivor Sunday, and Fool finished in the top four, which was good enough for the second entry.
