In the game where Crizzle needed 7 seconds to beat ND Lee, he called only two assists. That means, yes, he called one every 3.5 seconds. At the moment, that is the record. As far as complete matches go, I wanted to find out how fast players are calling for assists. Nobody's near the 3.5 second mark, but there's some doing it at a high rate.
Here's six finals matches since the game came out. All of the stats are available on the Fighting Game Stats database. The rate takes into account how often a player called in assist when they were still able to do it. If you're down to one character, obviously, you can't call an assist (you can still pray to a deity, though). Also, I've said it before on Twitter; I go by the game clock, not an actual clock, and that is how I've been doing it for every game, so don't start that debate here.

While it isn't the hardcore analysis of what each move does and such, Aris points out some very important and crucial points about how the game will likely be played by tournament competitors, including myself (yes, I plan to be competitive with this game).
Aris said he plans to come up with a gameplay-only video in the future, which should be very awesome to see.

Tekken 6 is once again the only fighting game on the lineup. It was one of nine titles announced as part of the main lineup. The World Finals will be held in South Korea, home to some of the game's best players. Knee won the 2010 world title, beating Japan's AO in the gold medal game.
Ariel "FightingGM" Capellan is the defending U.S. champion.
Here's more from the WCG:

The eight-second finish reminded me of a couple other quick beatdowns:
- In 2006 at Monterey Bay Thunder 6 (a tournament I ran) the Melee quarterfinals featured Tony Lopez, perhaps the second-best Shiek player in Monterey County, vs. Jeff "SilentSpectre" Leung, the most popular Captain Falcon user in the nation. The first game lasted 52 seconds. I had never seen anyone get worked over so badly in any game (until perhaps now).
- Last year, Marcus "MarcDogg" Carr beat a random opponent at a live Madden 11 tournament, 21-0. The match lasted 18 seconds on the clock. A runback, pick-six and a fumble for six were all that was needed.
I'll have full stats of the tournament coming up soon.

Details on the Evolution event in Japan were finally revealed on Monday. The tournament series will be heading to Japan on May 6 and 7 and will team with the Godsgarden tournament series. It is called Evolution vs. Godsgarden.
There are three games on the lineup: Super Street Fighter IV, Tekken 6 and Marvel vs. Capcom 3. The event also will count as part of the Evolution tournament season, meaning that points will be awarded to the top eight or 16 players in Super Street Fighter IV and MvC3 depending on turnout.
Here's more at Shoryuken:
For the first time in history, the world’s largest open tournament from the West is crossing over with the strongest players from the East for a world’s first in Street Fighter history. That’s right–Evolution is collaborating with the GodsGarden team to bring you Evolution vs. GodsGarden on May 6-7, 2011.no comments
Evolution vs GodsGarden marks a number of firsts in the fighting game community. Not only is it the first time the tournament has made the trek to the birthplace of Street Fighter, but it’s the first time the highly-revered Japanese fighting game community will be able to duke it out, Evolution style – open to all gamers anywhere in the world, two out of three games, and a true double-elimination bracket.
The main sponsor of the tournament is former University of Maryland running back Keon Lattimore; he is scheduled to be in attendance as well as current Baltimore Ravens linebacker Ray Lewis.
More details are set to come in the days ahead.
