ARCADIA - The team of Justin Wong, James Chen and Mike Ross came out on ... wait, let me rearrange the order of those names. The team of Mike Ross, James Chen and Justin Wong came out on top during Friday night's Dreamlab 3-on-3 tournament, outlasting a host of other competitiors.
I made that switch because it was James and Mike that did most of the work on the team, allowing Justin to relax for the night. Justin had to play the role of closer only one time, and that was during the First Semifinals, where he took out the team of Demon Hyo, DJ Vest and Kyo (Tribal Paradise).
Onto the title recap.
Title match result
Team FFA 2, Team Tribal Paradise 0
Match breakdown Rounds won: Team FFA 13, Team Tribal Paradise 6 First-hit win percentage: Overall 65.0 percent, Team FFA 81.8 percent (9/11), Team Tribal Paradise 44.4 percent (4/9) Lead changes: 1
Player of the tournament: Mike Ross. He didn't drop a round in the four games played (+8), by far the best ratio among the six players in the title match.
Other notes: Demon Hyo had Team FFA on match point during the First Semifinals. However, Justin rallied back to eliminate Demon Hyo, and then took out the other two players to get his team to the title match undefeated. Had things been a little bit different in that one round, momentum could have gone to the other guys.
Here's an interview with Mike Ross and James Chen following their tournament victory.
On Friday, GameTrailers released three tutorial videos of Super Street Fighter IV, of which the commentary came from Justin Wong. The three videos are tutorials of the Third Strike characters that will be in the new game.
I’m not one to do things just for the sake of doing them and have considered other venues, but I feel it’s better to not make any hasty decisions and just wait and see how things out. Just like when someone lands an Ultra on you and you’re close to death, you don’t mash Uppercut on wakeup just because they’re close to you.
